Hey There Gators!

Who’s ready for swim season? The purpose of this email is to welcome you to our team and to provide you with a few details about the 2023 swim season. First and foremost, “Welcome” to the team newcomers! And to our veteran swimmers and parents, “Welcome back!” We are so excited to meet you all!

Gator Swim practice will begin Monday, May 1st. Our first practice will be a “Splash- In” Pool Party from 6:00 – 7:30! A Parent Meeting will be held while the kids get to know each other and meet the coaches. The parent meeting starts at 6:30.

We will have t-shirts, swim caps, and fundraiser chocolates available for registered swimmers during the pool party as well. Additional shirts will be available for purchase after all the swimmers and our gracious sponsors have received theirs.

Starting Tuesday we will have three practices divided by age and ability. Please arrive to your assigned practice time 5-10 minutes early. For practice your swimmer will need goggles, a towel, and a swimsuit. Girls must wear one-piece suits and it is helpful for swimmers with long hair to wear a cap, but not mandatory.

• Practice A: 5:30 – 6:15
• Practice B: 6:15 – 7:00
• Practice C: 7:00 – 8:00

If possible, please have your swimmer use the restroom before practice begins. If you must apply sunscreen, please do so sparingly; our pool pumps are sensitive. Parents, you may leave your swimmer at the pool or stay for the practice. If you leave, even briefly, please be sure to let a board member or another parent know.

Our Head Coach this season will be Coach Jason Lind-Olson and our Assistant Coach will be Coach Nathan Masi. During practice, the coaches need to be able to focus on the kids in the pool. Unless, it is an immediate safety emergency, we ask that you not approach the coaches during practice. You may contact a board member with your concern or meet with the coaches in between practices.

This season we will have five CCSL sanctioned swim meets; three away and two at home. More information will be provided about each specific meet as the dates get closer.

We are excited to get our season going and to provide a fun and safe environment for the kids! We promise to do our best to provide a constant flow of information regarding practices, meets, and more. If you don’t find the answers to your questions in the Handbook, on Facebook, our website, or the pool bulletin board, feel free to ask a board member.

We are excited to get this season started. See you at the pool!
